Our mission

Make strangers less strange.

At our core

We believe every room has more to give — and so does every person in it.

Connections are too important to leave to chance

Conversations can change careers, start companies, close deals. And they happen when the right people are pointed toward each other. We believe making that happen is the most important thing we can do for any event.

Events are structured to the minute, people are not

Being there and being present aren’t the same thing. Something’s on your mind, sometimes you’re an introvert, your energy isn’t there. That’s not failure. That’s just being human. We believe connection should be possible on those days too.

Opportunity shouldn’t end when the event does

Not every connection worth having happens on the day. An event full of opportunity deserves to fully be explored — days, weeks, or even months later. We believe the people you met (and the ones you didn’t) deserve more time.

Our story

Where did Drop come from?

There’s a specific feeling you get when you walk out of an event knowing you could have gotten more out of it. We know it well.

01The room

Even coworkers felt like strangers

We spent years at Deloitte, attending some of the most carefully designed events. Curated rooms full of colleagues from across the firm, and still: the room felt impossible to navigate.

With so many people and limited time, we’d meet a handful and cling to them while the rest of the room remained a mystery. These weren’t strangers. These were coworkers.

02The pattern

Outside Deloitte, it got worse.

Then we’d go to conferences, trade shows, industry events. Rooms full of people we’d never met, with no way to know who mattered.

Every conversation started the same way — trading questions, figuring out if someone was relevant, deciding whether to keep talking or move on. A guessing game. And everyone in the room was playing it.

03The gap

Nobody was solving the right problem.

We looked at what existed. There’s no shortage of event tech: registration platforms, check-in tools, badge scanners.

None of it helped with the part that actually mattered: who are the people in this room, and who should we be talking to? Nobody had built it.

So we made it.

Your next event already has the right people

Let’s make sure they meet and give you the data to prove it.
