Frequently asked questions

Everything attendees and organizers ask about Drop — how it works, what to expect, and how to get the most out of the room.

About Drop

Drop is a geolocation-based app designed to enhance networking at professional events. Attendees see a live feed of other people in the room — closest people first — and connect with one tap. Organizers get a real-time dashboard measuring every connection and engagement moment at their event.

When an event partners with Drop, we create a dedicated event space with a unique access code. Attendees join the event to see a live feed of other attendees around them — with people closest appearing at the top. From there, they can use event-specific filters to customize their feed and tap to connect.

Drop requires no changes to your existing programming or infrastructure. You simply share a few details with us (e.g., event name, venue location, event date) and we handle the rest. We'll create your event space, provide a unique event ID for attendees, and set up admin access for your team. Your event is typically live on Drop within a week.

LinkedIn is built for online networking. Drop is built for real-world connection. You're investing time, money, & energy to be in the right room… we make sure you meet the right people.

No. While most event apps focus on schedules, maps, and logistics, Drop focuses on what matters most during the event: helping attendees actually connect with the right people. It also gives organizers a live dashboard with the data to show what actually happened in the room — something no event management app provides.

Yes — Drop is customized for each event. If you'd like Drop at your next event, please email info@dropprofessionals.com

Yes — the full value of Drop is unlocked at live, in-person events.

Your event organizer will notify attendees ahead of time or provide a check-in access code at the event.

For Organizers

The Drop dashboard gives organizers a real-time view of what's happening in the room — including total connections made, contacts exchanged, messages sent, profile views, active attendees, peak engagement windows, and breakdowns by attendee geography and event-specific filters. Data is aggregated and not shown at the individual attendee level to ensure privacy.

Yes. Drop is a pure networking layer — it doesn't handle schedules, maps, or registration, so it doesn't conflict with your existing event app.

The organizer dashboard gives you a concrete record of what happened in the room: how many connections were made, how many messages were sent, when engagement peaked. That's the proof sponsors ask for — and it's captured automatically, without surveys or follow-up.

Drop is built for in-person professional events of all sizes. From a 100-person executive meeting to a 10,000-person conference.

Attendees keep access to their connections and messages and can continue connecting even after the event. Organizers retain access to their dashboard data.

Drop is priced per event, based on your event's size. Everything is included at every size — setup, the organizer dashboard, onboarding support, and post-event access. Request a demo to get a quote for your event.

Privacy and Security

Location is only collected while you are checked into an active event.

No — your exact location is never shown to other users. Drop only shows your profile to other attendees within the same event.

“Always Allow” enables you to show up on other attendees' Explore pages even when you're not actively using the app, attracting more connections during your event.

You can easily toggle your discoverability on or off at any time in your settings.

Toggling off your discoverability will immediately remove you from new searches on the Explore page.

You control what appears on your profile, including your photos, bio, profile details, and linked socials. You can update or remove information at any time.

With a private profile, only your connections and users you have sent a request to will be able to see your full profile (social links, bio, profile details). Both Public and Private profiles appear to nearby attendees.

Yes — if you find someone has violated our community guidelines, you can block or report them within the app, and our team will review the issue promptly.

We only collect information necessary for the app's functionality and to provide the best user experience. You can read our full privacy policy here.

Features and Uses

We keep it simple — attendees closest to you appear first on your Explore page.

Yes — use event-specific filters on your Explore page to be intentional about who you'd like to network with.

Filters are event-specific and created in partnership with event organizers to help attendees tailor their networking.

No — users will only be notified when you send them a connection request or message.

Once connected, you'll have access to each other's socials and messaging so you can continue the conversation beyond the event. Your connections will also appear on your Explore page with a ring around their profile so they stand out at future events.

No — only accepted requests will lead to a notification. If you decline a request, you'll no longer appear on each other's Explore pages.

No — events end but connection continues. While the Explore page is only active during the event, you'll still have access to all your connections, messaging, and a list of event attendees so you can continue sending requests and networking beyond the event.

No — when you arrive, Drop recognizes you're inside the event radius and activates the Explore page.
